The Latest Fall Fashion Trends: Don’t Be The Last To Find Out!

Let me just start out by saying: the “bruh girl” vibe is in full force this autumn. I don’t know if it’s because we’re sticking to the baggy clothing trend that came out of wearing sweats for months on end, but I’m a fan. For those of you who may not be aware of the newest-named vibe that so many of us are trying to encapsulate, the “bruh girl” comes from a pinterest board full of pictures of women with their hair pulled back in a claw clip with rectangular sunglasses and gold hoop earrings. These staple details framed the look and set precedent for a sleek, relaxed, dressed up, yet thrown together last minute ensemble. The clothing choices, some new to this season, may be forgotten about, or paired unnoticeably and incorrectly in past years, are listed below! Let me style you, so you can dress in accordance with some of my favorite fall trends!

Sweater Vests

Okay, I will be the first to say, whaaaaaaaat?!?!? Sweater vests, you mean like what those old english professors or boarding school students have to wear? Yes, yes I do. These typical sweaters with cut off sleeves have hit the fall fashion world by storm and it looks like they’re not going anywhere for awhile. You can wear them cropped, oversized, argyle patterned, or solid colored. Pair it with tall knee high boots or high waisted jeans for a baggier look and you’re set for a comfy and classic outfit!

Layering Turtlenecks and Collared Shirts

Personally, I was never into the turtleneck thing, but I guess they’re convenient for keeping your neck warm without the struggle of adjusting a scarf every five minutes. The collared shirt wasn’t ever really my thing either to be fair. However, the key reason why is because I never had an interest in wearing them on their own. So, when I saw the combination of a sweater vest on top of a collared shirt, a crew neck sweatshirt on top of a collared shirt with a cheerleader skirt, a turtleneck under a sweater vest, or under an oversized t-shirt, I was shocked at how much I loved the trend. The layers add style… style I didn’t really see in these tops before.

Monochrome Neutrals

This is truly a favorite of mine, as I have very few colors I like to wear and feel good in. The monochrome neutrals hit hard with the infusion of layering. Neutrals are calm, subtle, chic, and can make you look like you put together the outfit effortlessly, but it’s a vibe nonetheless. When you stack them though, the whole thing becomes iconic and cohesive. Then there’s incorporating faux leather pants into the mix, ones that are a soothing neutral color for your bottom half and it’s just *muahhh* beautiful.

Oversized Collared Blazers and Jackets

Leather, corduroy, fleece, flannel, maybe even black denim, or fuzzy material, oversized collared jackets are in for the fall, people!!! I wear them with my ripped high waisted mom jeans, biker shorts and tall boots, or even just as a dress if you’re 4’11” like me and wearing an extra large. H&M and Zara set this trend with their lines this season.

Baggy Loose Fitting Jeans

So these have been around for awhile, but I may be specifically referring to the light wash ripped baggy jeans from Zara that have been taking over my for you page on Tik Tok. I for sure am. However, those specific ones from Zara aren’t the only option to accomplish the look. Urban Outfitters, Target, Aritzia, really anywhere you can find a similar style. The key is you want the jeans to fit like they need five more legs just on the one side. You pair them with a huge sweatshirt and long trench coat with some Nike’s, and there you go.

Chelsea Boots and Jordans

Whether they’re Doc Martens or a pair from H&M, the heeled black or white Chelsea boot is back. I’ve watched this trend slowly become bigger, but it wasn’t until they fit so perfectly with any combination of the above items that they were finally recognized for all their glory. The white Nike Air Force 1’s are FINALLY going out of style slowly just in time for me to recognize that I can no longer wear them ripped, frayed, and completely discolored. The sneaker trend will never go away; it’s just the model or style that fades in and out. Right now, we can maybe blame it on the Tik Toker’s, but the sad truth of it is the Air Jordan 1’s have always been around; I just never noticed their beauty until mow. The only thing to say about these sneakers is, they’re sick, absolutely so cool and can make your outfit edgy in a kind of sporty tom-boy way. I know what the first thing on my Christmas list is going to be.
