Just like Mr. Groundhog said, spring is officially on its way! Cherry blossoms are blooming and pollen allergy medications are becoming seemingly difficult to acquire. The warm weather, increase of sunlight, and the budding of new flowers mean your closet needs to be prepared! Spring is typically a season of new beginnings and this year’s fashion trends both enhance and contradict that idea. Here are some fashion tips to keep you classically in tune with the spring season!
- Roses
Well, it truly wouldn’t be spring without flowers! Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada said it best, “Florals for spring? Groundbreaking.” I don’t mean to disagree with the fashion icon herself but I think this season’s take on florals is quite groundbreaking.
Roses are the token floral accent of this spring! Clipping a rose in a classic updo or flowy blowout can be a unique way to exude bold femininity in your hair accessories. A rose is the perfect decal for an off-the-shoulder or a dainty business casual top. Rose patterns and details are all over dresses and skirts this season and are the perfect accompaniment to spring pastels such as pink and purple.
- White
Despite spring normally emphasizing a bright and soft color palette, white is the color of spring 2024! Flowy sundresses are a classic essential for every spring wardrobe, but this year’s spin on this classic item remains refreshing, yet timeless. White embroidery is quite common for blouses and dresses which serve as a precursor to a summer detail. Additionally, white brings a style of youthfulness and innocence to any spring staple. Personally, a classic white sundress is my go-to look and is perfectly paired with casual sneakers, beachy sandals, or leather boots, if you’re not ready to let go of the winter style just yet!
- Office-Ready
Just like Taylor Swift, office-ready outfits never go out of style! Business casual ensembles are the perfect transition from the bitter cold to sunny spring. An oversized blazer is a staple in my closet. Throwing a blazer over baggy jeans and a baby tee or an all-black workout set can easily dress up any look. Additionally, basics are a constant throughout any season. A classic bodysuit with loose jeans or a light cardigan are essentials this coming season. Trousers are made of light, breathable fabrics that keep that upscale look while complying with the warm weather. Office-ready is the perfect balance of dressed up or down and can carry through any season!
