Make Space – The GW Local
Read Time:1 Minute, 5 Second

By Lauren Harris

College and clutter are almost synonymous. While some students are expert minimalists and can quote Marie Kondo, most of us have trouble organizing and maintaining our exceptionally small living spaces. Oftentimes, the problem lies simply in our excess belongings.

Make Space Make Money offers an ideal solution for the all-too-common dilemma of having too much stuff and not enough space. This student-led nonprofit effort is providing Foggy Bottom residents the opportunity to clear out unwanted goods and have them sold on a selling network for only a small commission of the sale.

The hassle of bedroom photography, rapid replies from online chats, constant meet-upsb, and shipping are all handled and managed at your convenience. Further, if any items do not sell online within 90 days, customers can easily opt for donation or return options as well.

GW’s ambitious environmental protection efforts are evident throughout the campus. With so many options for charitable donations on campus such as, in-dorm receptacle bins in District and Amsterdam, on campus thrift events and the Sustainability department’s Green Move-out initiatives, there is clearly a push for limiting waste on campus. Now with an organization like Make Space there is a financial incentive to rethink throwing items away.
