As GW students head back to in-person classes, regular COVID testing is essential to keeping our campus, as well as D.C. open and safe. Of course students are already familiar with protocols for on-campus testing. However, with rising case numbers, there are a limited number of testing slots on campus, but friends, family and roommates may still need access to testing. D.C. Public Libraries and recreation centers around the city offer pick-up and drop-off sites in all eight wards. Additionally, specific libraries offer at-home COVID tests for D.C. residents with the “Test Yourself Express” program. With many of the sites located within close proximity to Foggy Bottom, you can easily get to the following sites:

West End Library
2301 L Street NW
As the closest site on the list, the West End Library is under a 10 minute walk from campus (or about the same taking the 33 or 38 B bus).
MLK Central Library
901 G Street NW
Easily accessible by the blue, silver, or orange line, all available at the Foggy Bottom stop. The library is steps away from the Metro Center metro stop. If you’re looking to save on your fare, the Georgetown-Union Station (GT-US) circulator also picks up near campus and stops a few blocks north of the library.
Georgetown Neighborhood Library
3260 R Street NW
Nestled near the top of Georgetown, the library is easily accessible from the Foggy Bottom campus via the 31 and 33 bus lines. While it’ll take around 20 minutes to get to this location by bus, you can always take the opportunity to do some shopping on your walk back to campus.
Palisades Neighborhood Library
4901 V Street NW
Mount Vernon students are in luck with this location being about a 10-minute walk away from their residence halls. Plus, you’ll be right next to a CVS if you do need to stock up on COVID recovery supplies.
Palisades Rec Center
5200 Sherier Place NW
Accessible by a 25-minute walk or you can take the D6 bus and then a 10-minute walk. Mount Vernon students can also visit the Palisades Rec Center for free test pick-up and drop-off.
Be sure to do your part and test regularly to keep campus and the D.C. community safe and healthy. For more questions on COVID response at GWU, visit https://coronavirus.gwu.edu/ or consult city resources and information at https://coronavirus.dc.gov/.
