Foggy Bottom’s new hottest bar is Expat. This bar has everything. Water pong. Good music. Employees ordering pizza from Domino’s to eat behind the bar. Sports on the TVs. Cornhole. Red solo cups. No people. And a frat environment without the frat-holes.
Dear reader, have you ever wanted to enjoy the frat experience, but had the sense to not join a Greek Life organization and be branded with that horrific label “Greek goober” for the rest of your life? (Clarification: it is not embarrassing to be in Greek life, it’s just embarrassing to be in Greek life at THE George Washington University. And maybe a little embarrassing to be in Greek life). Well, then I have the place for you. Expat offers the frat experience while not having to be at a frat. And I think that, if any people went to Expat, it would be one of the most popping places on the people’s campus. But uhhhhhhhhhh. There aren’t any. I went with a few of my friends and the only other people there were a college student and her grandmother playing cornhole. I felt judged by the staff as we enjoyed our time there ordering 3 drinks between the 8 of us. But there is an upside to this relative emptiness. The fact is, you, yes you, dear reader, can be THE Expat trendsetter. How does one do this? Well, you can informally gather your club or organization to take over the bar and have your formal without formally booking the venue. You can do it in a safe frat environment. And, best of all, you can do all this while the beauty of televised sports surrounds you. So go to Expat, dear reader, and be the first to get in on what will eventually become a GW staple.
