JRINK – It’s Always Juice Season In Here

While walking back from the post office one Thursday, I stumbled upon a pressed juicery that was new to me, and maybe some of you. Located at the edge of the campus, JRINK is a fun store with bright natural light – perfect for studying while sipping on a nice juice or smoothie. Little did I know, this would become my favorite spot on GWorld!

Here’s a run-down of nine juices I had the pleasure of tasting:

Detox

Chlorophyll, Probiotic Acidophilus, Lemon, Alkaline H2O

This was less of a juice and more of a water. It had a similar taste to a refreshing fruit or cucumber water you’d find at a spa. I would recommend this for someone who wants to replenish and hydrate at or after the gym or a workout class.

Glow

100% Pure Rose, Collagen, Beet, Lemon, Alkaline Water

Similar to Detox, this juice was more muted or watery. This drink had an earthy taste due to the addition of rose. Glow was a little too perfumy for my taste but for someone who likes floral notes (rose, lavender, hibiscus) this is a great option.

Spf

Grapefruit, Grape, Coconut H2O, Aloe, Cucumber, Mint, Himalayan Sea Salt

I did not expect to like this one as much as I did. Though I am not the biggest fan of grapefruit or salty hints in traditionally sweet juices, I was intrigued by the gorgeous and natural pink coloring. This juice was a pleasant surprise, it wasn’t too bitter and had a delicious grapefruit aftertaste!

Spicy Lemonade

Lemon, Cayenne Pepper, Cucumber, Pineapple, Grapefruit

This juice is such a fun and yummy twist to the original lemonade. The aftertaste settles in your throat with a bit of a kick while the pineapple adds a subtle sweetness. I think it’s an excellent and refreshing choice!

Super Greens

Kale, Spinach, Cucumber, Celery

Honestly, I felt like I was drinking a salad here. This drink is definitely for someone who prefers more bitter flavor profiles.I felt more refreshed after finishing the Super Greens, however, it wasn’t too fun to sip on.

Anti-Inflammatory

Sour Cherry, Raw Turmeric, Lemon, Black Pepper

This was a small juice meant to be taken like a shot, commonly referred to as a “wellness shot”. But for the purposes of a taste test, I decided to sip it too. I have to admit, this was not my finest moment due to the immediate bitterness I experienced. The sour cherry and black pepper was an interesting combination to say the least. Fun fact: I did see some reduction in the inflammation in my ankle– maybe due to the anti-inflammatory ingredients?

Daily Buzz

Cold Brew Coffee, Raw Almonds, Raw Cashews, Cacao, Alkaline Water, Dates

This was such an amazing drink. It tasted like a mocha, without all of the added sugar and dairy– a healthy alternative to your favorite Starbucks order. The almonds and cashews worked as a great milk substitute, and dates are a natural sweetener.

Pharma-C

Orange, Carrot, Grapefruit, Turmeric, Ginger, Lemon

This was definitely one of my favorite juices. I found it to be refreshing with a delicious citrus flavor. The carrot and ginger lightened the juice and made it feel very healthy. I will definitely come back for this juice!

Gold Rush

Turmeric, Apples, Lemon, Ginger

Another one of my favorites, it had the perfect combination of fruit and acidity without the ginger flavor overpowering the rest of the drink. I honestly could drink this all day, every day.

Overall, I really like this place and will definitely be stopping by here again. Unfortunately, they are not open on the weekends– learned this one the hard way. I hope to squeeze in mid week study sessions here when I have the time. One of my favorite aspects of JRINK is their push for sustainability. If you buy ten juices and bring the bottles back, you can get a free juice. We love an incentive like this but still, ten juices can feel like a lot all at once. That’s ok! My suggestion for the bottles is to reuse them in different ways. This can be DIY salad dressing, DIY dairy free milk or water bottle by your bedside. Regardless, the options are limitless!
